We are recruiting a passionate Legal Counsel to join our client’s Legal EEA & UK Team. The appointed individual will be responsible for delivering legal advice and support on regulatory issues, particularly focusing on structured products and financial market regulations. Key Responsibilities: Provide guidance on regulatory matters related to financial markets (e.g., WpHG, WpIG, MiFID 2, MiFIR, Transparency Directive). Draft and negotiate various commercial agreements, such as distribution and cooperation agreements, with our client’s entities. Offer guidance on EU data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) in coordination with the Group Data Protection Officer. Collaborate with internal teams to support legal aspects of structured products. Keep abreast of legal and regulatory changes affecting the financial services sector and our client. Help the business navigate complex regulatory landscapes and offer strategic legal counsel. Communicate and liaise with regulatory bodies (e.g., BaFin) and external consultants. Essential Qualifications: Qualified to practice law in Germany. A minimum of 4 years’ post-qualification experience in a relevant legal field, ideally within financial services or capital markets, either in-house or at a specialised law firm. Extensive knowledge of financial market regulations, with a focus on structured products, and a strong understanding of data protection laws. Proactive and willing to take on a variety of tasks and support new business developments. Proficient in German and English, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication abilities. Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively in a high-pressure environment. Additional legal qualifications (e.g., LLM) and proficiency in other European languages is highly beneficial.
