(Senior) Legal Counsel (f/m/d)

The (Senior) Legal Counsel will provide strategic legal guidance and support across all aspects of our business, ensuring compliance with German, EU and if applicable global laws and regulations with a special focus on Data Privacy. This role involves a blend of legal expertise, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the technology industry, to navigate the complex legal challenges and opportunities faced by our various portfolio companies. What you will do: Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate law, contract law, labor law, intellectual property, data protection (GDPR) & DPAs, and compliance matters. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including but not limited to, service agreements, partnership agreements, license agreements, and non-disclosure agreements. Monitor and analyze changes in laws, regulations, and industry practices that may affect the company’s operations and strategic objectives. Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Work closely with various departments, including HR, sales, marketing, and product development, to provide proactive legal advice and risk assessment. Represent the company in legal proceedings and manage relationships with shareholders and external counsel as needed. Assist in corporate governance matters, including preparations for board meetings and compliance with corporate governance standards. Provide training to company employees on legal compliance, intellectual property rights, and data protection best practices. Requirements: Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken. A law degree from a recognized university in Germany, ideally with admission to the German Bar (“Volljurist”). A minimum of 5 years of legal experience, preferably in the technology sector or a law firm advising technology companies. Comprehensive understanding of the legal framework and regulations affecting the technology industry in Germany and the EU (ideally also globally) Strong expertise in corporate law, contract law, and compliance issues, with a good understanding of intellectual property and data protection laws. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal professionals. Proactive, solution-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
