We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Regulatory Affairs & Product Compliance Engineer to join our team, who will play a crucial role in ensuring that our KHWA (kitchen, heater, water appliances) products meet all regulatory requirements and industry standards for the European markets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, product compliance processes, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. This position will require close collaboration with external regulatory bodies, internal teams and other stakeholders to support the launch, marketing, and ongoing compliance of our products. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Product Compliance Management for European countries: Oversee the compliance of products with applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., energy labelling and ecodesign, CE, REACH, RoHS, EMC, and other product specific obligations) to ensure successful market access and ongoing product safety. Execute regulatory strategies to ensure compliance with national and international laws, regulations, and standards for KHWA products across all stages of their lifecycle (development, approval, post-market surveillance). Regulatory Intelligence and Documentation: Support the preparation and/or review regulatory documentation, including product test reports, certifications, and approvals to relevant regulatory authorities. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing regulations and implement necessary adjustments by monitoring and analyzing regulatory trends, policy changes, and emerging regulatory requirements. Provide guidance on the potential impact of regulatory changes to the business and product design. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D teams, Quality Assurance, Legal, Marketing, and other teams to ensure compliance is embedded in the product development process from concept to commercialization. Risk Management & Audits: Lead the identification and mitigation of regulatory risks. Conduct internal audits and ensure timely preventive and corrective actions are taken to address non-compliance issues. Association Relations and Industry Engagement with European Associations Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, partners, and external organizations and represent Midea in relevant industry associations and promote their initiatives and advocacy programmes. Actively engage in relevant standardization organizations and working groups (e.g., IEC, Cenelec) to develop product performance standards and analyze the impact of changes on our products. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field (Master’s or higher preferred). 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in the home appliances industry. In-depth knowledge of European regulatory frameworks (e.g., CE marking, RoHS, REACH, and energy efficiency directives). Experience in preparing regulatory documentation and managing product certifications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with regulatory authorities. Very good understanding of product specific performance and environmental standards. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Familiarity with risk management principles and experience in conducting regulatory audits. Proficient in English. Other European languages or Chinese are a plus.
