Legal Counsel Location: Berlin Salary: €80,000- €85,000 Focus: Publishing & Media Law We are excited to offer a legal counsel position in the publishing and media sector. This role is ideal for passionate, collaborative, and highly organised professionals with a keen interest in intellectual property and licensing law. As Legal Counsel, you will work across various departments including publishing, research, editing, and IT, providing expert legal advice to internal teams while influencing key decisions with external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Gain a deep understanding of the company’s commercial and publishing priorities to deliver clear, practical, and strategic legal advice that supports business goals while managing risks effectively. Collaborate with senior legal professionals on research integrity cases and claims by filtering requests, coordinating stakeholders, and thoroughly reviewing relevant materials. Prepare and negotiate a variety of publishing and commercial agreements, templates, and terms. Provide insightful analysis of risks associated with consumer and intellectual property law. Refine and support internal policies and procedures to align with strategic objectives and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Deliver regular training to improve understanding and compliance. Your Profile: Experience: 2-4 years of in-house legal experience, ideally in media or publishing law. Education: Fully qualified German lawyer with completed second state examination. Knowledge : IP law, commercial law, and/or licensing law is advantageous. Soft Skills: A proactive team player with excellent time management, persistence, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to learn and grow.
