For our European Privacy team based in Munich, which is part of NIO’s European Legal Department, we are looking for a (Senior) Legal Counsel Privacy (m/f/x) Responsibilities Advise our digital and product development, sales, marketing and other business teams globally to ensure privacy obligations are met for NIO products and services in Europe. Ensure processing activities and/or data flows are identified, documented and related privacy risks have been mitigated to an acceptable level. Implement NIO Europe’s data protection management system (DPMS) in close connection with the Head of Privacy Europe Support the development of privacy concepts and assist business units with development of tools and methodologies to ensure on-going compliance Develop and condcut privacy trainings to increase employee understanding of NIO’s privacy policies, data handling practices and procedures as well as legal obligations Conduct data protection impact assessments and ensure implementation of privacy risk mitigating measures in time Assure that the use of technologies maintain, and do not erode, privacy protections on use, collection and disclosure of personal information Periodic review and update of customer facing documents such as privacy notices, terms and conditions and others Participate in the implementation and ongoing compliance monitoring of all trading partner and business associate agreements, to ensure all privacy concerns, requirements and responsibilities are addressed Regular reporting on the identification of data protection risks and implementation of data protection measures to the Head of Privacy Europe Investigation and documentation of data protection incidents Review and Advice on regulatory changes and define relevant actions Other activities to support NIO’s legal compliance efforts in Europe. Qualifications Fully qualified German lawyer or equivalent educational 5+ years of work experience in a law firm, or global company; specialized professional experience on advising and implementing data protection and privacy requirements Experience in automotive industry is a plus Material knowledge of data protection, privacy and data related Regulations in Europe Ability to manage and complete projects from beginning to end Good understanding of data flows, databases and IT services in general High interest to assess digital products and services and to adopt legal areas and issues quickly Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of responsibility Able to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver under tight time constraints Good verbal, written and visual communication skills, with attention to detail Fluent in English and German; other European languages are a plus This isn’t just another job.
