Macgregor Black are partnering with a Established Toy Company on the search for a Senior Key Account Manager. This is a permanent role based in Germany.
As the Senior Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key retail partners across Germany. You will play a pivotal role in developing and executing sales strategies that drive revenue, expand market share, and ensure the long-term success of the brand within the retail sector. This role requires a deep understanding of the German retail landscape, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow relationships with major retailers in Germany, including supermarkets and toy specialists.
- Develop and execute tailored sales strategies for each key account, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and maximising profitability.
- Drive sales growth through effective negotiation, promotions, and product placement to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Work closely with the Global Sales Director to identify and explore new business opportunities in the German discount channel.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and logistics teams to ensure that account-specific needs are met. Regularly report on performance, forecasts, and market trends to senior management.
- Analyse customer data and market trends to provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize sales performance.
- Lead contract negotiations, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for both the company and the customer.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 5-7 years in sales, account management, or business development, with at least 3 years of working with major retailers in Germany.
- Strong understanding of the toy industry and the discount channel, with a proven track record of driving sales in this space.
- Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken).
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to analyse sales data, identify trends, and develop actionable strategies.
- Highly motivated, independent, and proactive with a hands-on approach to achieving results.
- Willingness to travel across Germany as needed to meet with key accounts.
