Our company, Hogrefe Digital Solutions GmbH, develops the Hogrefe Test System (HTS), a web platform for comprehensive psychological online assessments, and employs more than 50 people. Our assessment tools help, for example, in the early diagnosis of learning difficulties in children, are used in HR for aptitude diagnostics, or support individuals with mental health conditions on their path to recovery.

We are currently seeking support for one of our development teams, consisting of nine colleagues (Junior Engineers, Software Engineer, Lead Engineer). We are looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join the team immediately. Use your skills and experience to take our platform to the next level.

What will you be doing?

We are hiring a Java Software Engineer to modernize our system and ensure it remains a leader in the industry. Together with the team, you will drive the vision for future development and play a key role in making and implementing essential technical decisions to make our leading software for psychological testing future-proof.

You will work with tools such as Puppet and Foreman for infrastructure management, GitHub for repositories and CI/CD, Gradle for builds, Docker for containerization, and Datadog for observability. Our backend is powered by Java and a MySQL database, which you will further develop and optimize.

Actively participating in the software development process, you will set high standards through your expertise. Your hands-on approach will guide the team in implementing best practices, maintaining code quality, and driving technical implementation. You will ensure creativity and collaboration, making sure our software meets user needs and industry standards.

Additionally, you will collaborate with other teams, foster the development of team members, and ensure that your team’s efforts align with departmental goals.

Who are you?

After years of successful development, our HTS has become an industry leader, serving a large number of customers worldwide. We are hiring a Java Software Engineer to modernize our system and ensure it remains a leader in the industry.

You should have at least 12 years of experience in Java software development, though we value the quality and success of your past projects more than the duration. We are looking for a highly skilled professional who can support the team by sharing their extensive knowledge and experience. You will leverage your expertise in the Java ecosystem and modern web technologies to drive significant progress. Your passion for modernizing our successful software will be a key contribution to our continuous improvement process.
