About the Job
What can you expect besides AWS consulting with us?
Our success is rooted in our daily culture of mutual helpfulness and appreciation, and the ability to speak openly about any topic. Our decision-making and communication paths are fast and uncomplicated thanks to a deliberately flat hierarchy.
When working with clients, we don’t stop at the end of a defined task—we strive to see the bigger picture and think ahead. Because we operate both on a technical and interpersonal level, we see ourselves as strategic partners in our clients’ AWS Cloud transformations.
Responsibilities:
- As a consultant in our cloud engineering projects, you'll explore many new environments where you'll identify and implement solutions using AWS architecture and tools.
- If you don’t already have a relevant certification, we’ll train you for your first one and aim to integrate you into a project quickly so you can identify with our work.
- You’ll guide client-side developers so they can eventually take over the services and tools we've implemented.
- Our projects typically last 6 months to a year and involve close collaboration with clients and fellow consultants. Occasionally, you’ll manage shorter projects independently.
- Example project: We automated the infrastructure of an insurance and contract portal for a German insurance company, including full periodic redeployment of the test environment.
- You’ll spend around 80% of your time on projects. The rest is for personal development or working on your own initiatives within the company.
Requirements:
- Teamwork and initiative are especially important to us, as we aim to implement sustainable DevOps structures for our clients.
- You should have a pragmatic approach to identifying the right tools and solutions for each environment.
- You communicate well with a range of stakeholders (developers, architects, product owners), and can explain complex topics clearly.
- You have a degree in a STEM field or relevant professional IT experience.
- You enjoy exploring and implementing new technologies. We primarily work with:
- IaC tools: CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK
- VCS & CI/CD tools: GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, CodePipeline
- Scripting: Bash
- Nice to have (not required): Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation, or containerization of applications.
- Must have: In addition to your focus area, you are open to projects involving AWS Landing Zone, Machine Learning, Big Data, or AWS migration.
You don’t need to meet 100% of the requirements. Even as a career changer, you may bring valuable strengths to this role. We do ask that you show us what draws you to AWS Cloud Computing.
