Job Title: Freelance Cloud Security Consultant

One of our managed service customers is seeking an experienced and results-driven Cloud Security Consultant to support their customer in strengthening its cloud security posture. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), experience with cloud-native security tools, and a strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct security assessments of cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• Identify risks, misconfigurations, and vulnerabilities across cloud environments
• Implement and improve cloud security controls, including IAM, encryption, logging, and monitoring
• Design and enforce security policies and procedures for cloud deployments
• Support incident response and threat detection efforts in cloud ecosystems
• Provide recommendations and technical documentation aligned with best practices (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001)
• Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to embed security in CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a cloud security engineer, architect, or consultant
• Strong expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with tools like AWS Security Hub, Azure Defender, GCP Security Command Center, Prisma Cloud, or similar
• Hands-on experience with security automation and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Knowledge of network security, identity management, and cloud-native threat modeling
• Relevant certifications such as CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver clear security guidance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in multi-cloud environments
• Familiarity with container and Kubernetes security
• Previous freelance or consulting experience
