Role Overview:
The Head of Engineering will oversee a team of 25 engineers across 4 teams (with plans to scale to 60+ engineers) focused on building and evolving the company’s Product Platform - a set of centralised, reusable services that power multiple AI-driven products across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor engineering managers across platform and infrastructure teams.
- Define and execute a long-term technical vision that supports high-scale, low-latency systems.
- Drive platform initiatives across developer experience, observability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with product and business leaders to ensure alignment between platform investments and company strategy.
- Foster a high-performance engineering culture with a focus on autonomy, technical excellence, and collaboration.
- Ensure operational excellence across platform services, from uptime and incident response to cost efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications:
- Experience in high-growth, high-tech organisations where engineering is a core product function - ideally in domains such as DevTools, AI/ML platforms, or B2B SaaS infrastructure.
- Proven leadership experience managing 25+ engineers, including oversight of multiple engineering managers.
- A strong track record of driving architectural decisions that balance speed, stability, and long-term scalability.
- Hands-on experience building internal developer platforms, scalable APIs, or ML/AI tooling used across multiple product lines.
- Willingness to work onsite in Berlin two days per week as part of a hybrid setup.
