Lead Business Developer - Trading platform Sales - PPA Trading & Hedging
Our client is an OTC market venue for energy and environmental commodities. Our cutting-edge platform digitalises the energy trading landscape, addressing the long-standing challenges that traders have faced for decades.
Their trading platform allows market participants to execute trades with unparalleled speed, efficiency, and security. As they are expanding its product offering, they are looking for a highly motivated, self-starting Business Developer for PPA Trading & Hedging to lead the development of our new suite of wholesale products with focus on the German Market.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and launch new wholesale products tailored for PPA trading, hedging, and procurement.
- Drive trading volume growth by onboarding PPA portfolio managers and traders to our platform.
- Build and maintain relationships with PPA managers, traders, and other key players in the renewable energy space.
- Leverage the existing network of traders while actively identifying and engaging new clients to expand market presence.
- Work closely with leadership to shape and execute the strategy for scaling this new market segment.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, identifying opportunities to innovate and adapt our offerings to the evolving needs of PPA managers.
- Represent the brand at industry events, fairs, and conferences, positioning us as a market leader in PPA trading.
Your Profile
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- A deep understanding of the German PPA market, including hedging and trading strategies for renewable energy portfolios, with a network in the renewable trading space being a strong plus.
- Proven experience managing PPAs, ideally from both an hedging and an origination perspective.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to build and scale a market from the ground up.
- Experience working closely with PPA portfolio managers, understanding their needs, challenges, and the market dynamics they navigate.
- A self-starter attitude with the drive to deliver results and take ownership of the entire project.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex products and services to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- A strategic thinker, able to align market opportunities with company growth objectives.
