Regional Sales Manager, Germany and Austria (m/w/d)
Kreg Europe GmbH, based in the beautiful Five-Lake-District, just outside Munich, is responsible for the European-wide distribution of innovative Kreg Tool products.
Kreg Tool is a growing tool-manufacturing company with our global headquarters located in Ankeny, Iowa, USA. We manufacture a wide variety of tools, accessories, and equipment for woodworkers and do-it-yourselfers. Most well-known for the Kreg Jig® pocket-hole jig, the company also offers cutting and measuring solutions, clamping tools, screws, and much more. These solutions give woodworkers and do-it-yourselfers the confidence to create their own projects, while helping to provide a sense of accomplishment upon completion.
The Regional Sales Manager – Germany and Austria, located in Germany, is a key member of the Kreg Europe team, playing a vital role in our success. This position focuses on driving sales efforts across Europe, with a particular emphasis on major big box retailers. The role involves developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth, expanding market presence, and strengthening relationships with both current and potential retail partners to champion the Kreg brand. This position will report to Kreg Europe’s Business Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at major European retailers, ensuring alignment with their business goals and strategies.
- Develop and implement tailored sales strategies in conjunction with the Kreg Europe leadership that increase market share and profitability across the big box retail channel. Identify growth opportunities, product placement, and promotional activities in collaboration with these key accounts.
- Identify emerging trends in the home improvement and DIY retail sectors and lead initiatives to expand into new European markets and new retailers and partners.
- Manage the full sales cycle for each retail account, including forecasting, pricing negotiations, promotional planning, and post-sale analysis to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Work closely with internal teams including marketing, product development, and supply chain to align strategies, product launches, and promotional efforts tailored to the big box retail market.
- Analyze sales performance metrics, market trends, and competitor activities to identify areas for improvement and refine sales approaches.
- Regularly report on sales activities, market conditions, and performance against targets to senior leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including emails, phone calls, and visits.
- Provide product and program training to retailers.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, retail sales data or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
- Demonstrate the ability to gather, submit detailed business information, pricing, and presentation of solutions to key accounts and prospects.
- Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and other events.
- Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support team objectives and organizational goals.
- Must be fluent in both German and English.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related business field.
- 4-6 years of sales experience with a proven track record of managing accounts at major retailers.
- Strong understanding of the European home improvement and DIY retail landscape, including trends, challenges, and key players in the market.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong presentation skills to educate and inspire customers about our products.
- Proficiency in creating, composing, and editing written materials.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to travel across Europe as needed for trade shows and to meet with key retail partners and sales teams.
