Investment Manager / Director – Software Sector Focus

A long-term oriented private investment firm backed by entrepreneurial families and industry leaders is seeking an Investment Manager or Director to join its team in Hamburg. About the Role

You will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and managing investments in the software sector, working closely with founders, management teams, and industry experts to drive sustainable growth. This role offers direct responsibility and influence from day one, with a clear path to further leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support sourcing, diligence, and execution of new investments in the software space
• Collaborate with portfolio companies on strategic and operational value creation initiatives
• Build and nurture relationships across the entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem
• Contribute to internal thought leadership and sector expertise
• Mentor junior team members and help shape firm culture

Your Profile

• 5–10 years of experience in private equity, growth equity, investment banking, or strategy consulting
• Proven exposure to the software / tech-enabled services sector, including transaction experience
• Strong analytical and communication skills with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset
• Fluent in English and German
• Based in or willing to relocate to Hamburg
