Application Support Engineer

My client is a leading, global legal company with offices around the world and top rated global reputation.

For their office in Berlin, they are seeking a fulltime application management engineer.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Deliver technical support and troubleshooting for complex server/client application integrations.
  • Manage and maintain robust environments comprising Windows Server platforms and IIS.
  • Administer and troubleshoot LDAP, Active Directory (AD), NTFS, DFS, DFSR, DNS, HTTP, SSL certificates, printing drivers, and Citrix ICA/printing/redirection.
  • Develop and utilize PowerShell and CMD scripts to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Conduct in-depth root cause analysis and deploy solutions to prevent recurring problems.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
  • Technical documentation creation
  • Migration of existing applications from on-premises to cloud platforms.


Required Skills:


  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
  • Proven experience in a Tier 3 support role or similar, with a focus on server/client application integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server platforms and IIS.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-energy, collaborative team.
  • Stellar communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.


Nice to Have:


  • Familiarity with insolvency-related applications such as STP suite, Lexolution, or similar software.
  • Experience with Linux servers, Tomcat, and Apache.
  • Experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
  • Experience with Citrix environments.
  • Experience with Linux
