About the Organization:
A globally recognised provider of biospecimen solutions and laboratory services is seeking a Director of Pathology. The organisation supports drug discovery and development through an extensive portfolio of high-quality biological materials and specialised lab capabilities. With a worldwide presence, its mission is to advance scientific innovation and enhance healthcare outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage an international team of pathologists.
- Expand and maintain professional networks within the global pathology community.
- Serve as Medical Director at a laboratory site in Germany.
- Improve and oversee pathology-related operational processes.
- Support assay development and validation efforts, including semi-quantitative and quantitative methods.
- Collaborate with project management, business development teams, and clients as a subject matter expert.
- Perform evaluation of specimens from clinical trials.
- Provide training to external pathologists in the interpretation and scoring of novel biomarkers.
- Contribute to publications and scientific posters in collaboration with clients and partners.
Qualifications:
- Full-time, on-site role.
- Board-certified in pathology (certification from Germany preferred).
- Additional qualifications in cytology are highly desirable.
- Background in hematopathology and/or genomics is a plus.
- Strong experience with predictive biomarkers, particularly in oncology and immunology.
- Expertise in IHC, multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF), FISH, and RNA in situ hybridisation, with the ability to support assay development and serve as a clinical trial reader.
- Familiarity with digital pathology and biomarker assessment via image analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Strong team orientation and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to working within a GCLP-compliant environment.
