As part of a high-trust, autonomous engineering team, they’re now looking for a Senior Java Developer to help drive a large-scale backend modernisation effort while contributing to frontend migration projects.

Role: Senior Backend Developer (Java)

Location: Fully Remote (Must be a German Resident)

Salary: up to €75k

Language: German fluency (minimum C1) required

What You’ll Be Doing:

Backend-Focused (80%)

• Develop scalable services using Java (v8+)
• Work with REST APIs, WebSockets, messaging systems
• Implement robust testing with JUnit and SonarQube
• Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MS-SQL, Oracle)
• (Bonus) Help support Azure cloud deployments

Frontend-Minded (20%)

• Support migration to modern Svelte frontend
• Provide onboarding or technical guidance to team members new to Svelte

What We’re Looking For:

• 5–6+ years of professional experience
• Strong backend development background in Java
• Exposure to frontend frameworks like Svelte is a plus
• German language proficiency (C1 minimum) and strong English (B2+)
• Previous experience working independently or in freelance/consulting environments is a big plus
