The Anti Financial Crime (AFC) Tools & Projects team is responsible for the further development of the AFC IT landscape and the maintenance of quality standards as well as ensuring the minimum regulatory requirements by means of relevant IT projects and artificial intelligence initiatives. The team is the central point of contact, project management and coordination for strategic and IT-related (group) projects in the local AFC environment and is also responsible for the budgeting and management of all AFC project costs and IT investments. The main task includes the administrative and technical responsibility of the AFC-relevant IT applications (i.e. Smaragd TCM, Smaragd MDS, Smaragd CRS, Smaragd CCM,).

What you'll be doing

  • Analysis and qualitative validation of the scenarios and indicators set up in the AML Transaction Monitoring application Smaragd MDS
  • Elaboration of possible optimizations in the indicator model
  • In depth-quantitative and (to some extend) qualitative validation of the results generated
  • Development of sophisticated quantitative methods for the AML TxM calibration approach by leveraging on all layers of the MDS and CCM database.
  • Documentation and justification of the methods towards external/internal auditors, Group Compliance and Senior management.
  • Quality check of data flow setting within the scenarios and indicators


What you'll need to succeed

  • Graduate/master's in data science or IT with focus on economic topics
  • Senior expert knowledge on AML requirements, Smaragd MDS and CCM application as well as the related data bases and indicator methods
  • Very strong skills in database and data model analyses (HOST (COBOL II, JCL), SQL, Palantir)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to understand highly complex data driven topics and development of quantitative calibration methods in the context of AML Transaction Monitoring
  • Experience in project management and monitoring is a plus
  • High sense of responsibility and risk awareness
  • Own initiative and responsibility, solution-oriented work attitude
  • Ability to work under high pressure and handling of very complex issues even in time critical situations
  • Ability to prepare and present information appropriately to senior management as well as external/internal auditors
  • Exact, detailed, reliable and independent working method
  • Self-confident appearance, enthusiasm, willingness to teamwork paired with assertiveness.
  • Very good ability to prepare risk-based decision papers with concrete proposals (relevant to practice) for the management
  • Excellent German and English skills in word and script are a must
