Legal Counsel - Data Protection Location: Dusseldorf A role that inspires you Join a growing international organisation in the smart technology sector as Legal Counsel - Data Protection & Commercial. In this role, you will lead data protection matters in Germany while advising on commercial, regulatory, and employment law topics within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Act as the primary contact for data protection matters in Germany. Advise business units on GDPR compliance and group-wide privacy standards. Conduct DPIAs and oversee the local data protection management framework. Draft and negotiate contracts with a focus on data protection and international transfers. Manage data breaches, investigations, and regulatory notifications. Deliver training and provide regular reporting on privacy topics. Advise on general civil and commercial law matters, including B2B/B2C contracts and terms & conditions. Support compliance with AI regulation requirements (AI Act). Manage civil litigation and coordinate external counsel. Advise on employment law matters. Your Profile: Fully qualified lawyer, Diplomjurist, or Business Lawyer. Minimum 3 years’ experience with a strong focus on data protection law (GDPR). Experience in corporate or advisory environments, ideally with international exposure. Pragmatic, structured, and commercially minded working style. Strong communication skills and high sense of responsibility. Business-fluent German and English skills. What’s on Offer?
